After securing the sale of a 15-year purchase agreement of 25MW of wind energy output to San Diego Gas and Electric, PPM Energy Inc. (Portland, OR) announced that it will build and own a new wind farm in Riverside County, CA, called the Mountain View III wind plant.
SeaWest WindPower (San Diego) jointly developed the Mountain View III plant with PPM and will construct 34 Vestas 660kW wind turbines at the site. The wind farm will have a generating capacity of 22MW. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2003. PPM also will add 3MW from its existing wind supply portfolio to bring the total wind sale to San Diego Gas and Electric to 25MW.
