Powervation Receives Innovation Award From Silicon Valley-based Irish Technology Leadership Group

Powervation, an emerging innovator of Auto-control™ digital power integrated circuits (ICs), was named as the winner of the 2009 Irish Times/Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG) Innovation Award.

The award was presented by Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mary Coughlan on Tuesday night at the annual ITLG dinner held at Stanford University. One of seven Irish companies shortlisted for the award, Powervation was recognized for its innovative technology and capability to build a strong global business.

Established in 2006, Powervation has pioneered a new class of digital power control solutions that transform the way power is delivered and managed. In the last seven months, the company launched its technology to global audiences and staged the first public demonstration at the world’s premier power electronics exposition in Washington D.C. in February. The company is on track to roll out its first product in the coming months and begin volume production.

Commenting on the award, Chief Executive Officer, Antoin Russell credited his team of digital power experts for the speedy development of a truly transformative technology for computing, consumer and netcomm applications. The Silicon Valley-based ITLG was established in 2007. It is comprised of senior Irish and Irish-American executives dedicated to supporting the growth of Ireland-based technology companies. The organization’s Chief Executive Officer, John Hartnett paid tribute to Powervation’s disruptive technology and expert team.
