PowerGate Signs Distribution Agreement with Vox Power

May 22, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

PowerGate LLC has signed a North American distribution agreement with Vox Power for their high density modular power supplies with a record breaking 25W/in³, almost double the power density of most competitor’s products. PowerGate will stock and integrate the Vox Power NEVO+600 chassis and modules, both Information Technology (IT) and Medical products. Customers may purchase individual components for field integration or buy as a fully integrated power supply. The PowerGate facility will support integration for quick turn-around which includes final assembly, voltage adjustment, final testing and packaging of these configured miniature power supplies which often require urgent deliveries for prototypes, pre-production and small quantity production requirements.

Vox Power was established in Dublin, Ireland in 2006 to address the growing demand for higher density power solutions, which are required to create smaller, lighter and more efficient products. Manufacturing, testing and assembly of all Vox Power products is carried out by a ISO 14000 certified manufacturing facility and a team of over 650 employees and years of power supply design and manufacturing experience. Vox Power maintains ISO 9001 certified design & manufacturing models and their capability includes multiple SMT and through holes production lines with state of the art equipment, in-house magnetic assembly capability and adheres to a Six Sigma quality process.

Vox Power’s NEVO+600 is a 600W Modular Power Supply that measures only 5.26 x 3.02 x 1.61" with what is described as an industry-leading power density exceeding >25W/in3. Previous generation 600-650W products from a broad range of competitors typically measured 10.0 x 5.0 x 2.5", less than 5W/in3 power density, Vox Power allows for a 5 times increase in power density.

Evaluation quantities can typically be configured within 3 days from stock with production volume lead times of 12 weeks.
