Pentadyne Power Corp. (Chatsworth, CA), a developer of flywheel power systems for power quality, distributed power and power recycling applications, announced that it has earned an Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) listing for its Pentadyne Voltage Support Solution™ (VSS) flywheel power system.

The VSS 120 was evaluated and tested to the applicable requirements of UL Standard for Safety for Industrial Control Equipment, UL 508; UL Standard for Safety for Electric Motors, UL 1004; and UL Standard for Safety for Engine-Generator Assemblies for Use in Recreational Vehicles, UL 1248. The unit will bear the label "UL Listed" and "Flywheel Power System."

"We are very pleased to have our VSS 120 system tested, evaluated and certified by such a prestigious safety organization," said Pentadyne Power CEO Paul Craig. "This UL listing will strengthen our product’s acceptance both domestically and internationally, as many customers require such third-party recognition as a critical factor in making a purchasing decision."
