OnScreen Technologies Changes Name To Waytronx

December 13, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Waytronx, Inc., previously OnScreen Technologies, is the new name for the provider of openly licensable advanced systems cooling solutions. Shareholders approved the name change during the company’s 2007 Annual Meeting. The Waytronx name is said to better reflect the company’s strategic direction in advanced electronics. Additionally, the company announced it will consolidate its headquarters into existing engineering facilities near San Diego in Vista, Calif.

"This has been a tremendously successful year in terms of design wins, collaborative technology development and securing patents for our innovative WayCool™ technology," said William Clough, CEO of Waytronx. "For many years, OnScreen focused on the Light Emitting Diode (LED) signage business and the company name was fitting for that strategy. However, as we advanced our expertise in addressing extreme heat in digital electronics, it became evident that there is larger opportunity for the company here. The long term industry trends to multicore processing and 3D packaging of advanced electronics create a microwarming crisis that can severely limit a system’s performance. Waytronx, with its patented cooling technologies, is well positioned to address these thermal challenges. Accordingly, the name of the company now more accurately reflects our new business focus."
