NYSERDA Contracts with Connected Energy

November 26, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

The New York State Energy Research Development Authority (NYSERDA, New York) announced that it has contracted with Connected Energy Corp. (Rochester, NY) for the first phase on an energy operations information website for distributed power generating facilities. The Central Operating Management System (COMSYS™) web technology will provide the public with information on high-efficiency energy generation.

The COMSYS™ system monitors and logs operating data from on-site generator systems to provide users with a detailed view of the technology's operations and efficiency. The leading technologies include combined heat and power (cogeneration) plants with internal combustion gensets, fuel cells, microturbines, and wind and solar generators. The COMSYS™ system offers remote, two-way, equipment management capability, and also provides management access to historical data and reports, enabling comparisons with similar operations.
