National Semiconductor Promotes Macleod to President

National Semiconductor Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) announced the promotion of Donald Macleod to the new position of President and Chief Operating Officer, beginning with the start of the new fiscal year on May 30, 2005. Macleod has served as National’s Executive Vice President, COO and General Manger of the product lines since 2001. As President and COO, Macleod will drive National's operational activities, including sales, manufacturing, technology development and business systems. He will also continue to manage the company's product groups.

"This is an extremely well-deserved promotion," said National Semiconductor Chairman and CEO Brian Halla. "Donnie has consistently succeeded in every role we've asked him to take on at National. In his new expanded position, he will continue to lead the execution of our ongoing high-performance analog strategy, enabling us to maximize returns for our shareholders."
