September 16, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Millennium Cell Inc. (Eatontown, NJ) announced that it has provided Ford Motor Co. (Dearborn, MI) with a prototype Hydrogen-on-Demand fuel system for automotive application evaluation. The system will be evaluated by Ford to validate the capabilities of the fuel system to deliver hydrogen to either a fuel cell or an internal combustion engine.

"Ford Motor Company is a demonstrated leader in the automotive industry in exploring the use of hydrogen to power both fuel cells and internal combustion engines," said Rex Luzader, Millennium Cell vice president, Business Development and Transportation. "We are pleased that Ford has agreed to evaluate our system and are looking forward to developing a working relationship beyond this initial evaluation phase."
