Micro Power Expands Corporate Headquarters

June 06, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

Micro Power Electronics announced that it moved its headquarters to a larger facility to accommodate ongoing engineering and production growth. The new, 65,000 square foot facility provides the company with an additional 100% of facility space for administrative, manufacturing and production functions.

Maintaining its position as the fastest growing supplier of custom battery systems in North America, Micro Power can now utilize ten production lines and two shifts to continue to meet the increased demand for custom portable power systems from its OEM customers in the medical, commercial military and data collection device markets.

"Unlike most Pacific Northwest manufacturing companies, we are choosing not to outsource overseas for our production needs," said Greg Love, president and CEO of Micro Power. "Our new facility enables us to keep manufacturing processes locally and to positively contribute to Oregon's economy and high technology industry."

Micro Power has doubled its revenue in two years and has grown from 100 to 250 employees during that time. The company intends to fill almost 40 additional administrative, manufacturing and production positions by the end of the 2006.
