Micrel Names David Schie Vice President, Analog Business Unit

Micrel Inc. announced that David Schie, Vice President of Analog Design and R&D, has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Analog Business Unit. Schie will also continue in his role heading up Analog Engineering. In his new role, he will have profit and loss responsibility for Micrel’s Analog Business Unit. The company’s analog business accounts for more than two-thirds of the company’s revenues worldwide.

"Since joining Micrel, David has made a number of significant contributions to the analog engineering organization and the Company in general," noted Ray Zinn, President and CEO, Micrel. "David was instrumental in helping Micrel to substantially increase the number of new product introductions year over year. He also streamlined Micrel’s engineering systems, improved on-time product release performance and drastically reduced product development cycle time – all of which have had a positive impact on the company’s bottom line. We are looking forward to David’s contributions in his newly expanded role at Micrel."

Schie joined Micrel in May, 2007. Before joining Micrel, he was an Executive Director at Maxim Integrated Products. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Supertex, Inc. He was a founder of various companies including the ESG group of companies and Linear Dimensions Semiconductor.
