LS Cable Announces Commercialized Wireless Charging Technology

September 30, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

LS Cable announced that they have successfully commercialized wireless charging technology, enabling electronic device charging by simply putting them on the pad. This wireless charging technology is for the palm pad, which is a terminal controlling mobile device that controls temperature and lighting inside of buildings. In the future, LS Cable plans to develop the wireless charging market for mobile phones in cooperation with set makers.

Wireless charging technology sends electricity to the charging pad through electromagnetic induction, and delivers electric fields to the battery and supply electricity to the electronic device. It is claimed that the technology does not create electric leakages, and that it prevents electric shocks.

The technology is applicable to a wide range of areas since it can charge home electronic appliances like robot cleaners as well as mobile communication devices such as mobile phones and MP3 players.
