Leclanché North America Opens Research and Manufacturing Facility

Leclanché SA announced today the opening of its North American subsidiary’s new research and manufacturing facility located within Purdue University’s “Polytechnic Center” in Anderson, Indiana.

The Purdue Polytechnic and Flagship Enterprise Center is an all-encompassing educational complex, from academic and lab spaces to mini-manufacturing operations, which creates hands-on interaction and engagement with high-tech Indiana companies – all under one roof – providing collaboration and exposure to entrepreneurship and innovation.

Globally, Leclanché produces a wide range of energy storage solutions for homes, small offices, industry, electricity grids, as well as solutions for transport such as electric buses and cars, and marine applications. Leclanché North America, headquartered in Dallas, was formed in 2016 to capitalize on fast-growing, renewable energy market opportunities in the United States and Canada.

The company currently has three major projects underway in North America including energy storage systems for grid ancillary services in the midwest U.S. and Ontario, Canada, and a recently announced network of electric vehicle fast-charging stations along a portion of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Leclanché North America’s new 10,000 square foot facility houses office, research and development, testing and manufacturing floor space along with a customer demonstration area. The company’s Dallas headquarters hosts management, sales and marketing personnel.
