Konarka Names New Director of Business Development

Konarka Technologies, Inc. announced that Kevin Debasitis has joined the company as new director of business development. Debasitis brings more than 20 years of business development experience in construction and renewable energy markets and will focus on customer development and revenue growth in North America. Most recently, he served Gemma Renewable Power as national business development manager identifying new business of renewable wind power plants across the U.S. and Canada.

"Kevin brings to Konarka a long track record of sales achievements with companies from start-ups to some of the largest companies in their market, including Fluor Corporation," commented Kenneth McCauley, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Konarka. "His focus in the construction, construction management, engineering and renewable energy markets, as well as his established base of contacts within the architect’s profession, will positively impact Konarka’s ability to capitalize on the capabilities our photovoltaic material brings to these markets."

Debasitis has served in business development roles for several leading companies over the past 20 years, including Gilbane Building Company, a $3.8 billion construction management company; Suffolk Construction, a $1.7 billion general construction contractor; Spagnolo Gisness & Associates, an architectural and interior design firm; and Fluor Corporation, a $10 billion international consulting engineering and construction company, among others. At Fluor, he directed a newly formed business unit to $50 million in sales in just 18 months. He also orchestrated a cross-functional team to capture a $500 million biotech office and production facility project.
