Invensys Powerware Division (Raleigh, NC) and Active Power Inc. announced a new agreement that will expand their relationship to distribute Active Power's next-generation flywheel product, CleanSource2. The new CleanSource2 will be distributed through Powerware's global sales force.
Powerware will offer the CleanSource battery-free technology with its three-phase uninterruptible power systems (UPS). Under the terms of the agreement, Powerware has committed to actively promote the CleanSource product line through defined sales and marketing programs and is the only UPS company within the US that will have access to this new flywheel product.
"This agreement gives us a competitive advantage by providing us with a differentiated product offering, and allows us to offer well-rounded power protection solutions," said Angelo Mandarino, vice president, commercial sales, Powerware. "By offering the CleanSource technology in addition to our comprehensive product portfolio, we are giving our customers added reliability, as a battery-free option or an enhancement to their existing UPS/battery system."
