Intersil Announces Sale of Product Lines to IC Microsystems

Intersil Corp. (Milpitas, CA) announced that it has sold its Xicor Serial EEPROM product lines to IC Microsystems (ICmic, Malaysia), an IC design company, for an undisclosed amount. ICmic will use the products and technology assets from the acquisition to strengthen its broad base of products and gain access to proven Serial EEPROM solutions.

"Through the purchase of Xicor earlier this year, Intersil acquired key analog expertise and innovations such as Floating Gate Analog as well as an established line of Serial EEPROM products," stated Intersil Vice President of General Purpose Power Products Davin Lee. "With the focus on growing the high-performance analog business, Intersil has made a strategic decision to sell the market proven Xicor Serial EEPROM product line to IC Microsystems."
