Infineon Tightens Up Its Corporate Structure

December 15, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Since reorganizing its business units into three core groups, Infineon Technologies AG (Germany) will reallocate the responsibilities of its managing board members, effective January 1, 2005. In the tightened business structure, one member will preside over each of three business groups: automotive, industrial and multi-market; communications; and memory products. Mobile and wireline communications are to be combined in a new communications business group. Security and chip card activities are to be integrated into the automotive/industrial/multi-market business group.

The schedule of responsibilities of the five-member managing board will be reallocated at the beginning of next year with Infineon President and CEO Wolfgang Ziebart remaining in his positions, and Peter Fischl remaining as CFO. Peter Bauer, Kin Wah Loh and Andreas von Zitzewitz, all currently executive vice presidents, will assume direct responsibility for one business group each. Zitzewitz also remains responsible for the central function manufacturing strategy, and Bauer for central sales functions.
