IdaTech Reports Issuance of Fourth Fuel Cell Systems Patent

IdaTech, a subsidiary of IdaCorp (Boise, ID), reports the issuance of its fourth fuel cell systems patent. The patent, number 6,221,117, is entitled “Hydrogen-Producing Fuel-Processing System.” It contains 69 claims directed to IdaTech’s fuel processors. The company believes that this patent could be crucial to commercialization of its fuel cell systems and components for electric power generation.

“Our mission is to be a global leader in the development, manufacture and sale of small-scale fuel cell systems and components for portable and stationary applications,” stated Alan Guggenheim, president of IdaTech. “This patent, covering technology invented by Dr. David Edlund, senior vice president, CTO, and William Pledger, PE, senior vice president and chief engineer, goes a long way to helping us achieve our mission.”
