February 20, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

MGE UPS Systems (Costa Mesa, CA) announced that Hewlett-Packard (HP, Palo Alto, CA) is now offering select MGE UPSs to its 9000 Enterprise Server customers. HP's new rack-mount Power Trust II-MR UPSs, provided by MGE, supply power protection for HP's enterprise solutions, including HP 9000, HP Workstations, HP Netservers and HP 3000 systems. They include three power configurations and are suited to environments with expanding numbers of servers, hubs, routers and other rack-mounted equipment. MGE claims that these systems can be combined to obtain a redundant power solution.

“We're very pleased to work with HP to develop power protection solutions that will help their customers optimize enterprise system availability and uptime," stated Daniel Doimo, vice president of marketing for MGE UPS Systems. “HP's commitment to offering the best-of-breed in server systems and power protection is a testament to its strategy of providing its customers with superior solutions that address today's rapidly changing computing environment. We share HP's vision and are continually developing power protection solutions that will ensure system protection as the industry moves into more sophisticated computing platforms."
