Green Mountain Energy Installs 25kW Solar Array

May 12, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Green Mountain Energy Co. (Austin, TX) introduced a 25kW solar array at Lake Farmpark in Kirtland, OH, designed to complement the operation of a 235-acre educational facility. The solar array consists of 260 individual solar panels and measures 106ft x 46ft. The complete solar electricity system was designed, commissioned and installed by BP Solar (Linthicum, MD).

Paul Markovich, president of Green Mountain Energy's Midwest region, stated, "This solar facility would not be possible if NOPEC customers did not create the demand. They already are buying Green Mountain Energy electricity that is 68 percent less polluting than what the average Ohio customer is buying."
