October 27, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Fukui Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Echizen City, Fukui), a manufacturing subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing Company, Ltd., will begin construction of a new manufacturing building in February 2017. The new building will be seven stories above ground built on the Fukui Murata Manufacturing west-side parking lot area. It will have a total floor space of 18,119 m² with completion planned by end of October 2017. Fukui Murata Manufacturing will invest 10 billion yen (including building and production facilities).

The new factory will expand the company’s capacity for development and manufacturing of monolithic ceramic capacitors, noise suppression products, etc. Demand for electronic components is growing in emerging markets like China and India, and demand for sophisticated devices featuring large numbers of components is also expected to rise in the future.

The construction of the new manufacturing building is aimed at expanding production capacity to accommodate these increases in demand. Producing raw materials for monolithic ceramic capacitors will enable Fukui Murata Manufacturing to ensure stable supply of products, expedite new product launches, and provide products to customers in a timely manner.
