Ferraz Shawmut Acquires Canada’s R-Theta Thermal Solutions

Ferraz Shawmut, a subsidiary of the Carbone Lorraine Group, announced that it has stepped up the pace of its developments in thermal protection for power electronics with the acquisition of R-Theta Thermal Solutions Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. R-Theta Thermal Solutions is described as a front-line specialist in air cooling for power electronics in North America.

Joining forces with Ferraz Shawmut Thermal Management business, which specializes in water cooling for power electronics, is said to present two primary advantages: complementary product ranges, combining high performance air-cooling technologies with even more sophisticated water-cooling solutions; stronger worldwide sales coverage, with a North American base joining Ferraz Shawmut’s historic European plant in La Mure, France, and a new set-up in Kunshan, China.

Ferraz Shawmut states that this global scale puts its thermal management in a suitable position to advise and serve OEM customers developing and producing electrical and electronic equipment anywhere in the world.
