Exar Corporation today announced the appointment of Andreas Koller as VP of Sales for EMEA. Mr. Koller will be based near Munich, Germany and report to Steve Bakos, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. He will be responsible for sales in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, as well as management of Exar's local staff, a network of sales representatives and authorized distributors.

Steve Bakos said of Koller, "We are very fortunate to have Andreas join Exar to drive sales in EMEA. He has an excellent background for the products, markets and customers we focus on, and more importantly I believe he has the right management style and business philosophy." Bakos continued, "Furthermore, our decision to move this position to Germany is consistent with our focus on the industrial market segment in EMEA. This move, combined with our recent acquisition of Cadeka Microcircuits that brought us high performance precision and high speed amplifiers, as well as low power data converters, greatly enhances our opportunity in that segment."

Koller brings over 15 years of international sales experience to the position having previously held VP of Sales positions with leading semiconductor companies; such as Texas Instruments and Energy Micro. "I am excited to join Exar and contribute to the company's growth and brand recognition in EMEA," said Andreas Koller, VP of EMEA Sales for Exar. "The opportunities for Exar's power management, connectivity and signal chain products in EMEA are huge and I intend to take a very hands-on approach to serve customers and increase Exar's brand recognition in the region."
