March 16, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

EnergyHub announced the appointment of Evan Vogel as Vice President of Utility Sales. Vogel will lead EnergyHub's sales team, bringing the company's innovative demand response and energy efficiency products and services to a broader number of utility customers.

"We're excited to bring Evan on board to expand EnergyHub’s position as the leader in next-generation utility demand response and energy efficiency,” said Seth Frader-Thompson, President and Co-Founder of EnergyHub. “More and more utilities are standardizing on a Bring Your Own Thermostat℠ (BYOT) approach for their residential demand response program needs. Evan will be able to use his deep technology experience to help utilities use our cutting-edge BYOT platform to get the most value out of connected devices.”

EnergyHub works with utilities on both BYOT and traditional utility-installed demand response programs. The company’s OpenBYOT platform allows utilities to take advantage of EnergyHub’s existing relationships to partner with any thermostat manufacturer or connected home service vendor through a single contract with EnergyHub. Vogel will help EnergyHub continue to grow both its BYOT and traditional demand response businesses.

Most recently, Vogel was VP of Sales and Marketing at Ampt, LLC, a manufacturer of components for utility-scale PV systems, where he managed market entrance and drove the creation of the HDPV Alliance, which brings 40 technology vendors together around a common vision for the development of lower cost and higher performance PV systems. Prior to Ampt, he was General Manager at Petra Solar, a smart grid and solar company focused on the electric utility market. While Business Unit General Manager at Power-One (since acquired by ABB), he managed the company’s entrance into the cleantech space. Vogel holds a BS in electrical engineering from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and an MBA from Adelphi University.

“EnergyHub is an established leader in home energy management and demand response markets and is well positioned to rapidly gain market share,” said Vogel. “I’m thrilled to join a very talented and dedicated team at this exciting moment.”
