Electrovaya to Exhibit EV at Transportation Expo

September 12, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Electrovaya Inc. (Toronto, ON), a leader in portable power battery technology, announced that it will be showcasing its prototype, zero-emission electric vehicle (EV) at the Toronto-Dominion Centre Courtyard, in downtown Toronto, from September 13-15, 2004, as part of the 2004 Better Transportation Expo.

The prototype, based on Electrovaya's lithium-ion Superpolymer® battery technology, has an energy density of over 200 Wh/kg, is five times lighter than lead-acid and takes considerably less space.

"The demand for a clean, emission-free and non-fossil-fueled vehicle has been growing tremendously. The pressure of high gasoline prices, growing asthma rates and concern about the environment in large urban cities is only increasing. With easily adapted infrastructure and the continued uncertainties of fuel cell vehicles, we believe the technology developed by Electrovaya provides the solution," stated Electrovaya Chief Technology Officer James Jacobs.
