Electrobike Intros Jazz Electric Bicycle

The Electrobike subsidiary of BAT International (Chula Vista, CA) introduced their new Jazz electric bicycle at last month's Southern California Bike Expo. According to BAT, negotiations are now under way with distributors to facilitate the introduction of Electrobike's product line to major retail chain stores. An agreement for bridge financing is in its final stages of negotiation, with a goal of obtaining $1 million to $10 million in funding.Electrobike announced that it will be conducting a land speed record attempt with the Jazz bicycle on May 16, 1999 at El Mirage, California. The Jazz bike now exceeds 50mph, according to BAT.
