DTE Energy Releases energy|now SOC

March 14, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

DTE Energy Technologies (Farmington Hills, MI) has launched the energy|now System Operations Center (SOC), which is a remote monitoring and control system that provides for the complete operational management of distributed generation (DG) systems. The SOC provides the opportunity for DG users to outsource the end-to-end management of all vital functions required to serve electric loads and maintain the reliability of on-site power systems.

The energy|now SOC was developed to complement the energy|now portfolio of DG products. The SOC provides the highest level of asset utilization to help reduce "payback" times to extend the operating life of DG units. The SOC is staffed 24 hours a day by trained operators who continually monitor the operation of the DG systems.

"The energy|now System Operations Center will play a pivotal role in advancing the future of DG," said James Gariepy, vice president of DTE Energy Technologies.
