Demystifying EMC Conference to be Held Virtually in February
The largest EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) industry event in the United Kingdom will be moving to a virtual format for 2021. Here’s a preview of what attendees can expect.
This year’s 7th annual Demystifying EMC conference will be held entirely online from Feb. 9 to Feb. 11, featuring a mix of live and on-demand keynotes and educational content suiting industry professionals and leaders. It will also include a virtual booth component with application demos from partnering companies.

The event’s organizer, Rohde & Schwarz, will host the three-day event inside of a digital rendition of its headquarters in Munich, Germany. Rohde & Schwarz provides electronic testing equipment, broadcast and media solutions, cybersecurity products, and aerospace defense security software and devices. Its Demystifying EMC program launched seven years ago as a one-day seminar, since expanding to become a leading EMC industry conference in the U.K.
Last year’s event, held on Feb. 10 in Northamptonshire, England, included five streams, 18 sessions, 22 exhibitors and drew a turnout of around 500 attendees.

In a press release announcing the 2021 conference, Rohde & Schwarz Marketing Director Steven Edwards stated that the new virtual format enables the company to reach a much wider audience of customers from across Europe and beyond.
“We had very positive feedback following our previous virtual conferences through which we were able to give our customers an immersive experience via their screens,” Edwards added. “We look forward to delivering the same experience in February.”
The 2021 Demystifying EMC conference will feature presentations by Rohde & Schwarz’s own EMC experts, as well as independent training and industrial partners. Each day will begin with an EMC presentation from Lee Hill, founding partner of SILENT Solutions, an American EMC consulting firm he founded in 1992.
The program also features live keynotes from Rohde & Schwarz experts discussing EMC test receivers, spectrum and network analyzers, testing vehicles in a real-world environment, over-the-air testing of electrically large objects, the consequences of lost data packets, and more topics. On-demand educational streams will cover industry trends spanning product design, testing, simulations, and regulations and standards.
A virtual exhibition will showcase products and services from leading companies in the EMC field, including Element Material Technologies, Eurofins E&E, Würth Electronics, Dassault Simulia, EMC Partner, Albatross Projects, UL and TÜV SÜD. Attendees can also chat with experts in this portion of the program.
