Catalytica Energy Names Schlatter VP of R&D Center

Catalytica Energy Systems Inc. (Mountain View, CA) announced that it has appointed James Schlatter to the position of Vice President, Research and Development Center.

In this newly created position, Schlatter will act as general manager of the company's Mountain View operation following the previously announced relocation of a number of corporate functions beginning in October

of this year to a new site near Phoenix, AZ. Schlatter will be directly responsible for managing the functional disciplines as well as for facilities, space planning and tenant

relations. In addition, Schlatter will continue to lend his engineering expertise to

various research and development activities.

"With over 20 years of tenure with Catalytica, Jim brings to this position

tremendous leadership skills, catalyst and combustion engineering expertise, as well as historical and cultural knowledge," stated Craig Kitchen, president and CEO of Catalytica Energy Systems Inc. "Together with Ralph Dalla Betta, our CTO, Jim will provide day-to-day leadership at our Research and Development Center. Research and development
