Catalyst Power Debuts Pinnacle 50 Energy Solutions

September 18, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Catalyst Power (Carlsbad, CA) introduced the Pinnacle 50 range of total energy solutions for businesses who want to be energy-independent during blackouts, power interruptions and control their energy cost on-site. The new offering combines Catalyst's integrated high-performance hardware, software, SmartGate web-based remote monitoring and control, operations, maintenance and service into one cohesive package for one monthly fee.

"Not until now have businesses had access to a complete on-site energy solution that integrates hardware, software, operations and maintenance for one monthly fee, eliminating the high capital and integration cost," said Kimberly Samaha, president of Catalyst Power. "The service has been designed specifically to meet the needs of the business environment -- where constant, clean power and cost control are critical."

The Pinnacle 50 offers 50kW of unattended, automatic backup and peak shaving power. The Pinnacle 50 consists of an energy-efficient, natural gas engine generator, and an automatic parallel switch-on intelligent control system, all packaged in a space-efficient outdoor container integrated with SmartGate web-based remote monitoring. The Pinnacle Plus 50 includes Pinnacle features and a battery-backed uninterrupted power supply for businesses that need high-quality, reliable power for critical load support.

The prepackage service offerings will be available in fourth quarter 2001. The Pinnacle 50 is priced from $2,050 to $1,700 per month, and the Pinnacle Plus 50 is priced from $3,750 to $3,125 per month.
