Agile Systems Presents Command Interface Support

November 30, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Agile Systems Inc. (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada) introduced the next generation of network support for its line of distributed motion controllers and drive products. The proprietary network language, entitled Command Interface, opens up the communication protocol so packets can be created independently of library or host platform in an easy, user-friendly format. Command Interface consists of a rich instruction set for complete control and flexibility for all motion control needs.

Based on a query-response model, Command Interface helps customers reduce servo system costs and increase portability while taking advantage of new features. Opening the communication protocol means a software license is no longer necessary to communicate with Agile Systems controllers. An ANSI C library is available that provides portability across UNIX, VxWorks, QNX, Windows, RTOS or any host that supplies an ANSI C compiler.
