March 25, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. announced that it has begun the installation of a new production line specialized in the manufacturing of a portable re-charger powered by the company’s compact PLI batteries.

The new re-charger is said to be very light and compact, measuring approximately 1.5" X 3" X 0.3". The re-charger may be energized from a variety of power sources, including: solar, USB port and regular ac or dc sources. The re-charger is intended for use with personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, digital cameras, Mp3s, MP4 notebook computers and other electronic products. The re-charger may also be used as a backup power source to power these applications. The production line is expected to start production by early June of this year.

Zhiguo Fu, Chairman & CEO of Advance Battery Technologies, commented, "The new production line represents our further effort to vertically integrate products. This new line, together with our previously announced mine-use lamp production line, will enable us not only to sell batteries but also the products that utilize our batteries." Mr. Fu further said that he is delighted to report that the new re-charger was largely developed internally by ABAT’s R&D Department using the Company’s proprietary technologies.
