ABB Gets $22M Russian Power Transmission Order

ABB Inc. (Zurich, Switzerland) announced that it has received a $22 million order to supply high-voltage switchgear and equipment for the Bureyskaya hydropower station in eastern Russia. It is ABB's largest contract for power technology equipment in Russia.

The deal, signed with OAO Engineering Center of the Unified Energy System of Russia, is for the supply, installation and commissioning of a 500kV gas-insulated switchgear. The equipment will be part of the system that will transmit electricity from the 2,000MW Bureyskaya hydropower station.
