Toshiba Corporation's Storage & Electronic Devices Solutions Company has expanded its "U-MOS IX-H Series" of low-voltage N-channel power MOSFETs with new 40V and 45V products claiming industry leading-class low on-resistance and high-speed performance. The new products—nine 40V and five 45V versions—are designed for industrial and consumer applications, including high-efficiency dc-dc converters, high-efficiency dc-dc converters, power supplies and motor drives. #19: 60A PMBus-Compliant PoL with Dynamic Loop Compensation

Murata has introduced the OKDL-T/60-W12, a 60-Amp, 95% efficient addition to the Murata Power Solutions OKD family of digitally-controlled point of load (PoL) dc-dc converters. The OKDL-T/60 power module is suited for FPGA and processor applications. The module is specified to operate over a Vin range of 4.5Vdc to 14Vdc, and provides a user adjustable output in the range of 0.6Vdc to 1.8Vdc with an efficiency of 94.9%. The SMT/LGA module measures just 25.1 x 14.1 x 7.0mm, providing industry leading-power density for the most demanding applications. More.

Mornsun has introduced the QAxx1 series dc-dc converters specialized for use as IGBT drivers. This series integrate driver IC features and provides a +15/-8.0 Vdc asymmetrical output voltage which maximizes IGBT drive efficiency. Minmax has announced the MDW08 series of 8W isolated and regulated dc-dc converters in the smallest 16-pin DIP package measuring only 0.94 x 0.54 x 0.31" where space is critical. The MDW08 family of high-density dc-dc converters consists of 21 models offering input ranges of 9- to 18-Vdc, 18- to 36-Vdc and 36- to 75-Vdc with single- and dual-output models ranging 3.3- to 15-Vdc in an encapsulated package. Mean Well has unveiled the RPS-300-C (300W) series miniature green enclosed type medical power supplies. The electrical specifications of this product all follow the RPS-300 series, open-frame units. When cooled by free air convection, these power supplies are rated for 200W. They are rated for 300W with 20.5CFM forced air. They include a 12Vdc/0.5A fan supply and a standby supply of 5V/1A More.

#15: Integrated Power Modules with 7th Generation IGBTs

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation announced today that it will begin shipping samples of its new G1 series intelligent power module (IPM) featuring seventh-generation IGBTs, comprising three different packages and 52 models in total. The new modules deliver reduced power loss and improved reliability for general-purpose inverters, servo amplifier, elevators and other industrial equipment. Sample shipments will begin in May. #14: SiC Schottky Optimized for High-Efficiency PFC Circuits

ROHM has recently announced the availability of 3rd generation SiC Schottky Barrier Diodes (SBDs) optimized for power supply PFC circuits in servers and high performance PCs. The SCS3 series adopts a new structure that improves upon the industry-low VF characteristics of ROHM's 2nd Generation SiC SBDs (1.35V at 25 degrees C) while providing increased surge resistance. This contributes to greater application efficiency, enabling support for power supply PFC circuits in servers, high-performance PCs, and the like. ROHM's 3rd Generation SiC SBDs are currently available in the TO-220ACP package. A surface mount type (TO-263AB) is scheduled for future release based on market demands. More.

#13: DC-DC Converters for Wearables and EH-Powered Devices

Torex Semiconductor Ltd. has launched the XC9272 series of synchronous step-down dc-dc converters. These converters support a low output voltage under 1.0V and achieve an ultra-low supply current. The newly-launched dc-dc converters support a low output voltage from 0.60 to 0.95V, and achieves an ultra-low supply current of 0.5µA. This enables power to be supplied with high-efficiency to chipsets that require a core voltage under 1.0V and maximizes the performance of low-voltage chipsets. More.

Bellnix has added the 150A BDP series non-isolated point of load (POL) step-down dc-dc converters. These dc-dc converters include digital control (PMBus) to change settings such as output voltage, turn-on sequence and turn-off sequence via serial communication during operation.
