January 04, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

ZAP announced that it is shipping the new Recharge-It-All Battery line for mobile electronics and laptop computers to major consumer electronic retailers and specialty dealers nationwide beginning January 8.

Recent investment by ZAP in ownership of battery manufacturing in China has resulted in the design and engineering of a new product category focused on providing renewable energy for mobile electronic devices. As a "green" company, ZAP will also be focusing on the advantages of its Portable Energy technology and the potential for reducing the amount of disposable batteries in landfill.

ZAP's Universal Laptop Battery M48 is intended to boost major brands of laptop computers for up to 6 hours. There is also a USB output to charge and power other mobile devices while using the computer. It comes with a full complement of power tips for low power mobile electronics.

"Road warriors will like the sleek design and powerful 49 watt capability," stated Steve Tucker, Sales Manager for ZAP Portable Energy. "We should take a major market share with this product."

The suggested retail price is $139.99.
