XPiQ Rectifiers Deliver 3000 & 4000 Watts

April 21, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. introduces the new CDP3K and CDP4K Series of rectifier/front end systems. These new power systems are designed for use in distributed power applications. The systems also work well as a rectifier for float-charging battery applications. Measuring 5.0 inches high by 5.0 inches wide by 12.12 inches long, the CDP3K provides an output power of 3000 W. The CDP4K delivers 4000 W of output power and measures 5.0 inches high by 5.0 inches wide by 14.12 inches long.

The CDP Series allows up to three modules to be paralleled into one standard 19-inch rack mount chassis. The CDP3K rack can have either three modules for 9,000W or 6,000W with a N+1 configuration. The CDP4K delivers 8,000W with a N+1 configuration or 12,000W with the parallel configuration.

Both the CDP3K and CDP4K accept an input voltage range from 180 to 264 VAC either single or three phase and deliver +27 VDC (20 to 29 VDC programmable) or –54 VDC nominal (-40 to –58 VDC programmable) outputs. An additional 5 V/0.5 A standby output is standard. The rectifiers also feature hot-swap N+1 redundancy with single wire current sharing with active power factor correction.

Other features for the series include 300,000 hours MTBF, over-temperature shutdown, over-voltage protection and over-current with auto restart and constant power mode protection. The CDP Series has international safety agency approvals and carries the CE mark (LVD). Pricing for 1000 pieces is $833 for the CDP3K and $1,042 for the CDP4K.
