XPiQ Presents New FX Chassis Power Supplies

November 16, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA), a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ac/dc and dc/dc power supply products, announced the new FX Chassis, an addition to the MP Series of modular power supplies. The FX is a 1,000W, multiple-output, configurable device able to generate thousands of output-voltage combinations.

The high-performance chassis is capable of delivering 1,000W for low line and 1,200W for high line. When stacked together into a "double-decker" configuration, the FX Chassis doubles its output power up to 2,000W at low line and 2,400W at high line. The FX Chassis offers plug-in modules capable of delivering a maximum of 12 floating outputs between 1.9Vdc and 150Vdc.

Features of the FX include universal 90Vac to 264Vac input with active power-factor correction and 5V standby. Outputs are adjustable by ±5% and have maximum ripple and noise of 50mV or 1% peak-to-peak, whichever is greater. Line regulation is typically 0.1% and load regulation is 1% maximum for single-output modules, and 2% for dual-output or triple-output modules. The FX has over-voltage protection at 115% to 130% of nominal, and overload protection that operates at 140% of nominal rating. The FX operates over an ambient temperature range of 0°C to +70°C and meets international EMC and safety agency approvals.

The FX Series is priced starting at $286 for 1,000 pieces. Small quantities can be configured within 48 hours and production volume within eight weeks ARO.
