XPiQ Announces New JPS250 Quad Power Supply

September 11, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA), a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ac/dc and dc/dc power supply products, announced the latest addition to the JPS250 product family. The new JPS250 Quad Series is a 250W power supply featuring four outputs. Full power is available up to 50°C with only 18 CFM airflow needed for 250W. The series operates up to 70°C with derating or delivers up to 200W with convection cooling.

Enclosed in a rugged U-channel chassis, the converters measure 8in x 4.2in x 1.5in. The device is suitable for applications that require a 1U low profile, tight space requirements, or where insufficient system air is available and a convection-cooled rating is required. The JPS250 Quad features zero-voltage switching technology, which allows for higher efficiencies of up to 86% and reduces output noise and ripple. The series offers four models with output voltages ranging from 3.3V, 5V, ±12V; ±5V, ±12V; 5V, ±12V, 24V; and 5V, ±15V, 24V. The series accepts a wide range of input voltages from 85Vac to 264Vac with active power-factor correction to meet EN61000-3-2, -3 standards. All models have international safety approvals and meet Class B conducted EMI requirements.

Samples should be available in late September/early October of 2003. Production quantities for the new series should be available by the end of the year.
