Westcor Announces FlatPAC-EN AC/DC Switcher

The Westcor Division of Vicor Corp. (Andover, MA) introduced the FlatPAC-EN, an ultra-low-profile, EN 61000-3-2-compliant power supply with a power density greater than 7.8W/in³. The FlatPAC-EN, measuring 9.2in x 5in x 1.4in (233.7mm x 127mm x 35.6mm), provides up to 500W of output power from one to four isolated outputs. For full EN compliance, the FlatPAC-EN can provide up to 425W. It can be configured with any of Vicor's 300Vdc input dc/dc converters in full-, half- or quarter-brick sizes.

Accepting inputs of 90Vac to 132Vac and 180Vac to 264Vac at 47Hz to 63Hz, the FlatPAC-EN uses a microprocessor-controlled auto- ranging function. Featuring passive harmonic current attenuation, the FlatPAC-EN generates low EMI, which simplifies noise filtering and contributes to its high power density. It meets the conducted EMI requirements of FCC Class A and B and EN 55022 Class A. It also meets EN 55022 Class B with an optional ac inline connector.

Pricing for the FlatPAC-EN is as low as $1 per watt in small quantities. It is pending worldwide safety agency approvals for CE, cULus and TÜV. Contact the factory for lead times.
