Vishay Announces GTF701-HS3-GS08 EMI Filter

New Products Jul 25, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced its new GTF701-HS3-GS08 two-channel, EMI filter, an ESD protection array that integrates an EMI filter in a leadless LLP75 package optimized for space-critical applications. Measuring just 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm with a 0.7 mm height profile, the GTF701-HS3-GS08 offers EMI and bi-directional ESD protection in compact end products, including mobile phone handsets, laptop computers, PDAs, digital cameras, modems, GPS devices and two-way pagers.

The new diode array provides transient protection for two data lines, meeting Level 4 IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) specifications of 15 kV (air) and 8 kV (contact), as well as the IEC 61000-4-5 (lightning) specification of 5 A. The device features a low insertion loss of -4 dB over a range from 1 MHz to 10 MHz, a low maximum reverse stand-off voltage of 5 V, low reverse leakage current, and low clamping voltage - a maximum of 15 V (5 A, 8 µs/20 µs). Good attenuation of high-frequency signals is ensured with transmission values of -10 dB for signals between 100 MHz and 3,000 MHz.

Built on thin-film-on-silicon technology in an LLP75-6A plastic package, the ESD protection array is specified for a UL 94 V-0 molding compound flammability rating, high-temperature soldering up to 260 °C, and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C.

Samples and production quantities of the ESD protection array are available now with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for US delivery in 100,000-piece quantities starts at $20 per 100 pieces.
