V-Infinity Intros VPF-S800-XXR U-Frame Series Power Supplies

V-Infinity LLC (Beaverton, OR) introduced its new VPF/VPM-S800-XXR Series of 800 W switching power supplies, which are available in u-frame or fan-cooled, metal-enclosed packaging. Delivering more than 9 W/in³, the units are designed for a wide range of industrial and networking applications. Exact dimensions of the VPF-S800-XXR Series measure 7.99 in x 4.33 in x 2.56 in while the (metal-enclosed) VPM-S800-XXR Series measures 9.17 in x 4.25 in x 2.50 in. The power supplies deliver a peak load of 900 W for up to 500 msec. All models feature active power-factor correction.

Voltage outputs range from 12.0 Vdc to 48.0 Vdc, adjustable by ±5 percent. The units produce full output power from 0 °C to 50 °C, requiring only 30 cfm of airflow for cooling. Power derates linearly from 50 °C to 70 °C, at which point the units still produces 50 percent output at 70 °C. Features include an internal EMI filter; remote on/off; remote sense; and over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protections. In addition, optional OR-ing diodes can be implemented for current-sharing applications. Safety approvals include UL, cUL, TUV, CE, and CB.
