Ultralife Intros UBI-2590 Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery

Ultralife Batteries Inc. (Newark, NY), a designer and manufacturer of batteries and power sources, introduced its UBI-2590 lithium-ion (Li-Ion) rechargeable battery, which is designed to meet the immediate needs of customers looking to power current and next-generation portable electronic devices. Applications include defense, law enforcement, homeland security, scientific research, medical, surveillance, and mining.

The UBI-2590 battery, with two independent 15 V sections, each with separate protection electronics and capacity gauges, enables users to operate the battery in either 15 V or 30 V modes. Typical voltage for the UBI-2590 is 14.4 V or 28.8 V. The capacity in the 15 V mode is 12 Ah at 1 A at 23 °C and 6 Ah at 500 mA at 23 °C in the 30 V mode. The battery has a maximum weight of 1,440 g, and has an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C.
