Ultra-Precision and Low-Power Op Amps for IoT Devices
The TSZ12 series of high-precision op amps from STMicroelectronics offer very low input offset voltages with virtually zero drift. Available in single-, dual-, and quad-channel versions, these op amps offer rail-to-rail input and output, excellent speed/power consumption ratio, and 400 kHz gain bandwidth product, while consuming less than 40 µA at 5 V. These features make the TSZ12 series suited for sensor interfaces as well as battery-powered and portable applications.
The devices operate from 1.8V to 5.5V, with quiescent current below 40μA at 5V, gain-bandwidth product of 400kHz, and ultra-low input bias current. There are three members of the TSZ12 family: The single-channel TSZ121 is pin- and package-compatible with comparable devices from other manufacturers. The dual-channel TSZ122 offers popular MiniSO-8 and SO-8 packages plus the option of a miniature 2mm x 2mm DFN8. And the TSZ124 quad op amp in TSSOP-14 and 3mm x 3mm QFN16 packages. The devices claim the industry’s broadest choice of zero-drift op amps.
Key features of these op amps include: Very high accuracy and stability with offset voltage of 5µV max at 25 degrees C, and 8 µV over full temperature range (-40 to 125 degrees C); Rail-to-rail input and output; Low supply voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V; Low power consumption of 40µA maximum at 5V; Gain bandwidth product of 400 kHz; High tolerance to ESD of 4 kV HBM; and Extended temperature range of -40 to 125 degrees C.
