Tyco Electronics Unveils NP0800 Rectifier

March 25, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Tyco Electronics Power Systems (Dallas, TX) expanded its NP Series of 48V power systems with the launch of the NP0800 rectifier. The NP Series is a family of interchangeable rectifiers and shelves that provide a cost-efficient, global solution with flexible power levels to support data, enterprise and telecommunications applications.

The NP family is a custom solution built on a standard form factor, allowing customers to use one shelf for any rectifier in the family to make growth and expansion simple while providing customized options like programmable output voltages, custom faceplate colors, and custom communication protocols. The shelf accommodates up to three rectifiers of any power level. The NP0800 rectifier measures just 5.5in x 11.8in x 3.4in, creating a space-saving system. The 19in NP shelf will hold three rectifiers and measures 19in x 12in x 3.5in. Customers can parallel up to four NP shelves.

The rectifier accepts worldwide ac-input voltages and meets global safety agency approvals. In addition to a Class B EMC rating, the NP0800 has earned NEBS Level 3 compliance with only one rectifier in the shelf.

The NP0800 is priced at $350 in 1,000-piece quantities. The NP1200 costs $485 in 1,000-piece quantities.
