Tyco Electronics Offers nanoSMDM Series PolySwitches

Tyco Electronics Power Components (Menlo Park, CA) Raychem Circuit Protection Division announced its new nanoSMDM Series of PolySwitch devices, which are now available in a lead-free design. Simplifying migration to lead-free manufacturing and assembly, the devices can be installed with both leaded and lead-free solders.

The small form factor of the nanoSMDM devices gives engineers the benefit of resettable circuit protection in applications such as portable electronics, computers and peripherals, telecom equipment, and automotive applications, where board space is critical. The devices help protect circuits up to 6V from over-current surges of up to 40A. The new devices are available for operating currents of 0.5A, 0.75A and 1.0A. Samples are available in tape-and-reel for evaluation. Prices start at $0.23 each in volume quantities. Lead time is four to six weeks.
