Tripp Lite Unveils SmartOnline 6000 RT3U UPS System
Tripp Lite (Chicago, IL) introduced the new SmartOnline 6000 RT3U UPS system (model # SU6000RT3U). The compact UPS system adds more power and industry-exclusive features to the SmartOnline UPS product line.
The SmartOnline 6000 RT3U offers a clean form of ac output power. Dual-conversion technology continually converts incoming ac power into filtered dc power, and then re-synthesizes it back to low-harmonic, frequency-controlled ac power. This constant on-line operation generates a pure sine-wave output with zero transfer time and completely isolates sensitive connected equipment against all power problems. Additionally, the SmartOnline 6000 RT3U is designed to eliminate harmonic current problems.
"This UPS addresses both high-power servers and power-dense racks filled with thin servers and Internet appliances," said David Slotten, Tripp Lite director of product management. "Tripp Lite largely erased the historic price premium for online technology, and operators of server, storage and Internet-working equipment are making their preferences clear. The continuously perfect power, extensive remote-management capabilities and runtime scalability offered by the SmartOnline UPS Series make it the finest group of UPS products in their class."
The SmartOnline 6000 RT3U provides solid battery runtime in the event of blackout, ensuring time to manually or automatically perform a shutdown of connected operating systems. With a 200V to 240V input-/output-voltage range, the system accommodates a variety of high-voltage servers and telecom systems. This unit is compatible with a step-down transformer, providing 120V output at full power.
The SmartOnline 6000 RT3U includes a hard-wired rack-mount power module and a 3U rack-mount battery module. Runtimes can be increased indefinitely with the addition of battery packs. Individual rack-mount battery modules offer convenient hot-swap battery replacement with the addition of the step-down transformer.
The SmartOnline 6000 RT3U UPS system will be available the first quarter of 2002 and carries an MSRP of $5,499.
