Torex Releases Ultra-Small 1mm2 High Speed LDO Regulators with 300mA Output

New Products Feb 08, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Torex Semiconductor Ltd. has developed the XC6223 series of ultra-small 1mm2 high-speed LDO regulators with 300mA output. The XC6223 Series of high-speed LDO regulators includes an in-rush current prevention function and can support output currents of up to 300mA. The new series also has a high output voltage accuracy of ±1% (2.0V to 4.0V) and ±20mV (1.2 to 1.95V), and a high ripple rejection of 80dB@f=1kHz. The output voltage is fixed internally and is selectable within a range of 1.2 to 4.0V (0.05V steps).

Load-transient response performance has been improved to dramatically reduce drops in output voltage due to sudden load changes. Protection circuits are included to provide current limitation, short-circuit protection, overheating protection, and in-rush current protection.

For the package, the SSOT-24, SOT-25, SOT-89-5, or USPQ-4B03 can be selected to fit the application. The ultra-small USPQ-4B03 (1.0mm x 1.0mm x h0.4mm) has a smaller mounting area than previous packages and is well suited for portable products and modules that require a compact design. It also contributes to higher operational reliability in devices that have severe voltage changes.
