Token Electronics Ind. Co. Ltd. (Taiwan) announced its new ASZ high-voltage power resistors, which is capable of handling power up to 1.5kW, making it suitable for use in industrial machinery, electric power distribution and automated control installations.
The resistor has a minimum insulation resistance of 100 megohms, enabling it to withstand 2kVdc for one minute. It also has a short-term overload capability that enables the device to handle 1,000 times its rated power for five seconds. The aluminum-encased device measures 130mm x 485mm x 80mm and weighs 4.3kg. It is available in resistance values from 15 ohms to 1 kiloohm.
