Supertex Dual, 200V Complementary High Speed MOSFET Arrays Reduce Ultrasound System Board Space

December 14, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Supertex, Inc. introduced TC7920 and TC8220, high-speed, 200V complementary MOSFET arrays that feature low on-resistance, fast switching and compact packaging. These are well suited for space-constrained applications such as in portable medical ultrasound systems as well as in high voltage pulser, amplifier, and buffer applications.

Both products feature two pairs of 200V, low threshold, N- and P-channel MOSFETs in a 12-lead DFN package. The TC7920 integrates the output drain diodes, while the TC8220 has no diodes and offers over 3 Amp current capability. They utilize Supertex’s proprietary advanced, vertical DMOS structure and silicon-gate manufacturing processes to produce devices that are easier to drive due to low threshold voltage and low input gate capacitance. They have high speed and high power handling capabilities.

"When paired with our MOSFET drivers such as Supertex’s MD182x family, TC7920 and TC8220 offer a highly efficient and compact pulser solution without sacrificing performance for portable medical ultrasound systems," stated Hernan DeGuzman, Vice President of Marketing for Supertex. "The introduction of these complementary MOSFET arrays further solidifies Supertex’s family of products for medical ultrasound applications."

TC7920 and TC8220 are available in 12-lead DFN packages. The parts are RoHS compliant. Samples are available from stock. Lead-time for production quantities is 4-6 weeks ARO. Pricing is US$1.47 each for TC7920K6-G and US$1.52 for TC8220K6-G, both in 1K quantities.
