STMicroelectronics Offers New 74LX1G04 Inverter

New Products Feb 09, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

STMicroelectronics Inc. (Geneva, Switzerland) introduced its new 74LX1G04 wide-voltage-range, single-gate inverter that has protection against electrostatic discharge, latch-up and over-voltages to provide maximum flexibility for designers working on space-constrained circuits.

The 74LX1G04 uses an advanced sub-micron process to let the device work over a wide voltage range, from 1.65V to 5.5V. Although it can work at voltages down to 1.65V, with data retention as low as 1.2V, the inverter can withstand over-voltages up to 7V. The internal circuit is made up of three stages, including buffered outputs to provide low-noise operation and a stable output. The 74LX1G04 is designed for low-power operation, drawing just 10µA when in a quiescent state. It supports a power-down mode in which both the inputs and outputs are put into a high-impedance state, providing full protection. All inputs and outputs are protected against electrostatic discharge.

The 74LX1G04 is packaged in a five-pin SOT323. For less space-constrained designs, a version packaged in the slightly larger SOT23-5L is available. It is priced at $0.12 in quantities of 1,000 units.
