STMicroelectronics Debuts LNBP21 Voltage Regulator

March 23, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

STMicroelectronics Inc. (Geneva, Switzerland) presented its new LNBP21 voltage regulator that features a step-up dc/dc converter that allows it to operate from 8V to 15V, and is integrated with an I²C bi-directional bus interface for device control. Available in an SO-20 or Power SO-20 package, the device is designed for the low-noise block circuits used in analog and digital satellite broadcasting television receivers.

Other features of the LNBP21 include short-circuit protection and diagnostics, as well as digital cable-length compensation and over-temperature protection. Electrostatic discharge protection of up to 4kV on the power I/O pins is also included.
